Who does what
- Huntsman is an iPhone app made by JupiGlow LLC, a technology company. JupiGlow LLC is not a broker-dealer or investment adviser.
- Your brokerage account is at your broker, a registered broker-dealer. Your broker opens and holds your account, holds your money and securities, approves options trading and carries out your orders. Your broker’s own disclosures and privacy notice cover that account.
- Huntsman is not made by your broker. You link your own brokerage account by signing in on your broker’s page. Huntsman never sees your brokerage password. See the supported brokerages.
- Check the background of your broker on FINRA’s BrokerCheck.
Options are risky
- Options trading is not suitable for all investors due to its inherent high risk, which can result in significant losses, including the entire amount paid.
- Huntsman shows short-dated options, which end within 7 days. They can lose all their value fast, sometimes in minutes.
- On expiration day, options that are in the money may be exercised into shares: 100 shares per contract for stock and ETF options. You may need to pay for them. If you can’t, your broker may sell your position first.
- Your broker may stop new same-day option positions before the close, for example after 3:30 PM ET.
- Read Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options (the Options Disclosure Document) before you trade options. It’s also in the app under Settings › Documents.
How the AI works, and its limits
- The AI explains market data and your own positions in plain words. It runs on large language models from third-party AI companies, reached through OpenRouter.
- It explains; it doesn’t recommend. It never tells you what to buy, sell or hold, and it can’t place, change or cancel orders. If you ask it to prepare an order, it fills in only what you said, and you review and confirm it yourself.
- It can be wrong. It may misstate a price, a number or a fact. Check before you rely on anything it says.
- Your questions, and the account details needed to answer them, go to the AI provider only after you tap Allow. You can turn the AI off in Settings. See the Privacy Policy.
How the ranges and estimates are worked out
- The range (“Likely … by Fri” and the shaded range on charts) comes from the prices of the options that end that day. Huntsman fits a smooth curve to the implied volatility of out-of-the-money options and turns it into the chances those prices imply for where the price ends (the Breeden–Litzenberger method). “Likely” runs from the 16th to the 84th percentile. When there aren’t enough prices to fit, it uses a symmetric range as wide as the at-the-money straddle.
- Chances on a trade (for example “about 1 in 4”) come from the same model.
- Profit or loss at the close is arithmetic: what the contract would be worth at that price when it ends, minus what you pay, including fees. Values before the close use the Black–Scholes model with the contract’s implied volatility.
- “Could move … either way” is the price of the at-the-money straddle.
- All of these are hypothetical. They use prices at that moment, change as prices move, and are not a guarantee of results. Option prices show what traders pay, not what will happen.
Plans and fees
- Huntsman charges no trading fees. Fees from your broker or regulators, if any, are your broker’s to show and charge.
- Huntsman is a monthly subscription sold through Apple, with a 7-day free trial and no free plan. The plans and prices are in the Terms. Plans never change how your orders are handled.
